National Independence Monument photo copyrighted by: Brian McMorrow This 20-meter tall, red-stone monument was erected by King Sihanouk's father, King Norodom Suramarit, who reigned as King from 1955 until his death in 1960. It is the site of colorful celebrations and services on holidays such as Independence Day and Constitution Day.
