on 120.2 acres of land formerly part of the state of
Maryland. Daniel Carroll of Duddington was paid £25 an
acre for the land.It has housed the meeting chambers of the House of Representatives and the Senate for two centuries. The Capitol, which was started in 1793, has been through many construction phases.
