Sacred Art Museum photo copyrighted by: Brian McMorrow San Leo, Palazzo Mediceo Built between 1517 and 1523, after Florence conquered the town, the museum spreads out over the piano nobile of the
Palazzo Mediceo. The building's internal structure, typical of the Renaissance, is centered around the ground floor reception rooms. Together with the elegant stone frames of the windows, the building's façade bears a characteristic round-
arched portal with a smooth ashlar molding, as well as the coats of arms of the
city of Florence – decorated with a fleur-de-lys pattern –and of Pope Julius II.
