Temple of Dendera photo copyrighted by: Jim Zuckerman The Temple of Dendara was known as the 'Castle of the Sistrum' or 'Pr Hathor', House of Hathor. The site of Dendera Temple has a long history and there are many remains of Old Kingdom tombs scattered in the desert behind the mudbrick enclosure.
