Thai pavilion photo copyrighted by: Brian McMorrow The old summer palace at Bang-Pa In is between Bangkok and Ayutthaya. The palace was built during the reign of King Prasat Thong(1629-1656) and again by
King Rama IV(1851-1868). The palace precinct is enclosed within a high wall, around which massive towers
are positioned at intervals. In fact Bang Pa In comprises two separate palace
complexes, an outer and an inner. At one time the inner was barred to all but the
royal couple and male courtiers.
