The Peter and Paul Cathedral Design photo copyrighted by: Galen R. Frysinger Designed by the architect Domenico Trezzini, it was the
first cathedral built out of stone in St. Petersburg. The cathedral's rectangular base stretches from southwest to northeast, and its walls are formed with decorative pilasters and ornate cherub heads on the windows.
