K2 Pakistan photo copyrighted by: Alan Ingram K2 is 8,611 meters high and located in the Karakorum Range on the China-Pakistan border. It is the second highest peak in the world. It was given the name K2 because it was the second peak measured in this range. It was also named Godwin Austen.
