Guangdong is located in south China and faces Hainan across the strait. Half
of the province has subtropical weather. It is the provincial home of many Chinese immigrants who brought back expertise and money to their ancestral home and contains the largest number of overseas Chinese. Shantou, Meixian, and Guangzhou are famous hometowns for overseas Chinese people.
