Thailand is a Southeast Asian, predominantly Buddhist kingdom almost equidistant between India and China. Thailand is a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Cairns Group of agricultural exporters. Tourism contributes significantly to the Thai economy (about 6%). Thailand's population is relatively homogeneous. More than 85% speak a dialect of Thai and share a common culture. Thailand remains a constitutional monarchy.
