The Town Hall is Manchester's greatest monument. Manchester's magnificent Town Hall can be found in Albert Square, just to the north of St Peter's Square. In the glass mosaic roof of the entrance hall is an oak
trapdoor through which the tower's bells can be lowered
to street level.
