The Todai-ji temple was restored in 1195, and people,
such as monk-Emperor Gotoba and Minamoto no Yoritomo
with many soldiers attended the ceremony. The temple rebuilt twice after fire. The current building finished in 1709 although immense is actually 30% smaller than its predecessor.
