The Sultanate of Oman is the second-largest country after Sa'udi Arabia on the Arabian
Peninsula, with an area officially estimated at 212,460 sq km.
Little is known about Oman's pre-Islamic past but it is clear from recent archeological
discoveries and research that early civilizations existed at least 5000 years ago.
