Pura Meru is the largest Hindu Temple in Lombok and it is dedicated to the Trimurti, the Hindu Trinity of Brahma, Shiva and Wisnu. The temple itself has a series of three yards, lying from east to west. The yard in the west is home to the Kentongan or Kukul house, in which a drum or bell made
of bamboo resides, ready to be struck in an emergency,
or during a holy ceremony.
